The Yahara Division is a fictional police precinct featured in the Ju-on film series. They played a significant role in the "Hitomi" and "Toyama" chapters featured in the 2002 film Ju-on: The Grudge.
Overview[]
The Yahara Division was a sub-section of a police department that serviced a ward, or numerous wards in Tokyo, Japan.
In 1998, police detectives Kenichi Nakagawa and Igarashi Keiji were called in to investigate multiple deaths including four bodies discovered at the Saeki house and one related victim found in her apartment.
Keiji and Nakagawa consulted with Yûji Tôyama, a detective who investigated murders that took place in 1993. They went to the Saeki residence where all three of them were attacked by Kayako Saeki - a spirit of vengeance known as an Onryō. Igarashi and Nakagawa backed away against a wall, but Tǒyama managed to get out. Their final fate is unknown.
