Xtro 2: The Second Encounter is a Canadian horror film of the science fiction subgenre. It is the second installment in the Xtro series and takes place after the events of the 1983 movie Xtro. It is succeeded by the 1993 movie Xtro 3: Watch the Skies. The movie was directed by franchise creator Harry Bromley Davenport and produced by North American Pictures, Excalibur Pictures and New Line Cinema. It was released theatrically on September 25th, 1991. It stars Jan-Michael Vincent as Doctor Ron Shepherd, Paul Koslo as Doctor Alex Summerfield, Tara Buckman as Doctor Julie Casserly and Jano Frandsen as McShane.
