William Sanderson is an American film and television actor born in Memphis, Tennessee on January 10th, 1944. He is best known to fans of the horror genre for playing the role of Sheriff Bud Dearborne on the HBO series True Blood. He was a series regular on the show throughout seasons 1 and 2, but left the series after the fourth episode of season 4. He came back to make a guest appearance in two episodes from season five. William's first film work in the horror genre was playing a gas station attendant in the "Terror in Topanga" vignette from the 1983 anthology film Nightmares. He also played a character named Ray in the 1993 sci-fi killer dog movie Man's Best Friend.
