"Murder by Moonlight!" is the eighteenth issue of the first Werewolf by Night ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics. It was written by Mike Friedrich with artwork by Don Perlin and inks by Mike Royer. It was colored by Linda Lessmann and lettered by Tom Orzechowski. The story was edited by Roy Thomas. This issue shipped with a June, 1974 cover date and carries a cover price of .25 cents per copy.

The character of Jack Russell was created by Roy Thomas, Jean Thomas & Gerry Conway and artist Mike Ploog. He first appeared in the "Night of Full Moon... Night of Fear!" story from Marvel Spotlight #2 from February, 1972.
This issue carries the approval stamp of the Comics Code Authority.
According to Comic Reader #104, this issue shipped to retailers on March 26th, 1974.

This issue is reprinted in black and white in the Essential Werewolf by Night, Volume 1 trade paperback collection, released in 2005. It is reprinted in full color in the Werewolf by Night Omnibus, Volume 1 from 2015 and the Werewolf by Night: The Complete Collection, Volume 2 in 2018.

According to the indexer notes at the Grand Comics Database, Gil Kane did the layout art for the cover to this issue, but is uncredited.
This is the first appearance of Griffith Park in the series, which also played a key role in the "Rubber (Wo)man (Part Two)" episode of American Horror Stories in 2021.
