Warm Bodies is an American feature film of the zombie apocalypse subgenre of horror as well as a romantic comedy. It is an adaptation of the 2011 novel of the same name by author Isaac Marion. The film was written and directed by Jonathan Levine. It was produced by Summit Entertainment and Mandeville Films and premiered theatrically in the United States on February 1st, 2013. The film follows the story of a teenage zombie boy identified as "R", played by Nicholas Hoult. R mills about an abandoned airport, doing what zombies do best, until he meets Julie, played by Teresa Palmer. Something within Julie strikes R deeply and his undead heart begins to beat. As R and Julie grow closer together, they must determine a way to coexist with not only the zombie denizens of the world, but also with the military contingents that are out to destroy them.
