Violet Harmon is one of the main characters featured in the FX Network television series American Horror Story. Played by actress Taissa Farmiga, she was introduced in the program's pilot episode and appeared in every episode in season one. Violet Harmon is presented as the daughter of Ben and Vivien Harmon, a manic depressive who moves from Boston to an old home in Los Angeles, California. Violet discovers that the house is haunted and ultimately takes her own life. Her spirit remains in the house as a ghost, but her ghostly friend Tate Langdon has his own secret agenda involving the Harmon family. When Violet's mother was dying during childbirth, Violet urged her to cross over to the other side with her.

Violet returns in season eight where Madison Montgomery helps Violet reconcile with Tate by showing her that Tate managed to save Vivien from being murdered by Michael Langdon.
