Val Guest was an American film director and writer born in London, England on December 11th, 1911. His first foray into supernatural fiction was the 1941 haunted comedy The Ghost Train. Guest wrote a portion of the dialogue of the film along with Marriott Edgar. In 1955, he co-wrote and directed The Creeping Unknown for Hammer Films. The movie is better known in the US market under the title The Quatermass Xperiment. Also for Hammer, Guest directed the 1957 thriller The Abominable Snowman starring the late Peter Cushing. Guest passed away in Palm Springs, California on May 10th, 2006 at the age of 94.
