"Home Haunt" is an American film short. It is part of the V/H/S film series and is the fifth and final stand-alone vignette in the 2025 film V/H/S/Halloween, not counting the framing sequence. It was written and directed by the husband & wife team of Micheline Pitt-Norman and R.H. Norman. This short stars Jeff Harms as Keith, Sarah Nicklin as Nancy, and Noah Diamond as Zack, with a guest appearance by legendary special effects artist Rick Baker.
Plot[]
Keith loves putting on his family's annual haunted house event, which is the highlight of his year and an extreme passion for him. He and wife Nancy's son Zack used to love the even when he was younger, but now that he is a teenager, he considers it and his father an embarrassment. Keith tries to cajole Zack into participating one more time, but Zack refuses. As it turns out, Nancy finds a way of blackmailing Keith into being a part of it, and he is not happy about that.
Keith brings Zack along with him to a local Halloween-themed retail store. Keith videotapes all of the wares even though the proprietor warns him against doing so. Keith sees a roped off area meant for employees only and sneaks inside to see what else they have. He finds a vintage vinyl record of Halloween creep music. Excited, Keith decides to steal the vinyl, but leaves some money on the counter to pay for it.
Keith, Nancy and Zack host the grand opening of their haunted house and there is an impressive line of people waiting to get inside. One of the patrons is a reluctant customer named Rich, who is only there because his wife forced him to go. Rick scoffs and rolls his eyes at every moment, telling Keith that all of his ghostly attractions look like "shit".
Keith brings the guests into a room where they begin to play the record that he stole from the Halloween store. The haunting sounds play for only a moment, then the record suddenly bursts into flame. Various items in the room begin moving about of their own accord, and the visitors can see that even Keith and Nancy are surprised by this.
Suddenly, and without warning, the spooky props spring to life. A white sheet ghost wraps itself around Rich and twists his body until his neck and spine snap. Other attractions spring to life and begin attacking the other guests. Chaos runs rampant as Keith and Nancy try to help people escape from the haunted house. Zack follows along behind them carrying a video camera, capturing the entire madness on tape. One of the ghoul figures leaps out and takes an axe to Rich's wife, Judy, cleaving her head in two. Nancy grabs the axe from it and grapples with the creature as Zack runs out of the room. More decorations spring to life and begin savagely murdering the other patrons, including children.
Zack, Keith and Nancy manage to survive and escape outside the house, only for a witch to fly out and grab Zack's camera. The witch proceeds to massacre children who are out trick-or-treating. The entrance to the haunted house, which is shaped like a monster's jaws and hands, begins to come to life and break free from the building as the footage ends.

Baker's demeanor in this film short as a sour party pooper is intended to be ironic, as Baker hosts his own haunted house at his home every year.

- Recording justification: Zack refuses to put down the camera when the monsters start killing, telling his dad that people need to know what happened so they don't blame him for the murders committed by the monsters.
