Urban Legend is an American horror film of the teen slasher subgenre. It was directed by Jamie Blanks with a screenplay written by Silvio Horta. The film was produced by Original Film and Phoenix Pictures and released theatrically in the United States on September 25th, 1998.

- Production on Urban Legend began on April 20th, 1998. Principal photography concluded on June 29th, 1998.
- Urban Legend currently holds a 21% Rotten on the Tomatometer at the film review aggragate site Rotten Tomatoes.
- This film went into production on the same day as Idle Hands. Coincidentally, both films feature music by Rob Zombie, who would go on to direct the Halloween remake franchise as well as House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects.
- The movie was shot in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Trinity College and Trent University in Port Hope and Peterborough (respectively) doubled as Pendleton University for the film.
- Screenwriter Silvio Horta makes a cameo appearance as a college student in this film. This is Horta's first work in the horror genre. He is also known for creating the sci-fi series Jake 2.0 and was a showrunner on the dramedy series Ugly Betty.
