Underworld is an American action/horror film directed by Len Wiseman. The screenplay was written by Kevin Grevioux, Wiseman and Danny McBride and was produced by Lakeshore Entertainment and Subterranean Productions LLC. It was released theatrically in the United States on September 19th, 2003. The plot of the film focuses on a centuries-old war between a sect of vampires and a breed of werewolves known as Lycans. A vampire assassin, or Death Dealer, named Selene finds herself protecting a human named Michael Corvin - a man targeted by the Lycans who also holds great interest to the vampire hierarchy. After Michael is bitten by a Lycan, Selene must decide whether to do her duty and kill him or go against her clan and save him.
