The Turning is an American feature film of the supernatural thriller and ghost story genres. It is based on the novel The Turn of the Screw, written by Henry James in 1898. The film was directed by Floria Sigismondi with a screenplay written by Carey Hayes and Chad Hayes. It was produced by Amblin Entertainment and Vertigo Entertainment and distributed through Universal Pictures. It premiered theatrically in the United States on January 24th, 2020.
