Paul McClatchy[]
Paul McClatchy was a representative of Arapaho Energy. When Arapaho discovered that the home of Maxine Fortenberry of Bon Temps, Louisiana was sitting on a valuable natural gas deposit, they sent McClatchy out to offer her a deal to sell them extraction rights. When McClatchy knocked on the door, he was greeted by Tommy Mickens, who had been living with Maxine for a short while. Tommy introduced himself as Maxine's son, Max Fortenberry.
Paul McClatchy pitched his deal and told him that he was prepared to offer Maxine $10,000 per acre for up to three years, plus 17.5% royalties on any resources they located and were able to extract. Tommy countered the offer with $12,000 per acre for up to five years plus 20% on whatever they found. Paul told him that he was willing to negotiate and returned to Arapaho to work on a revised offer.
