Transylvania 6-5000 is an American independent feature film of the comedy genre that contains elements of the horror genre. It was written and directed by Rudy De Luca and produced by the Dow Chemical Company, Jadran Film, and Balcor Film Investors. It was released theatrically in the United States on November 8th, 1985. The movie stars Jeff Goldblum and Ed Begley, Jr. as two reporters who are sent to Transylvania on an assignment to unlock the mystery of an alleged Frankenstein Monster sighting. While there, they uncover a variety of mysteries involving vampires, werewolves, and mummies - or do they?

- Transylvania 6-5000 was filmed in Yugoslavia. Many of the secondary cast members and extras were culled from the local population.
- Transylvania 6-5000 was released on DVD in Region 1 format in the United States by Anchor Bay Entertainment in 2004.
- Actor Michael Richards is best known for playing the character of goofy neighbor Kramer on the NBC sitcom series Seinfeld.
