Toby Whithouse is a British actor and television producer from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. He attended an art college in Southend before turning his intersests towards acting. His first professional television work was playing a student in the 1992 television movie A Masculine Ending. He also had a recurring role on The House of Eliott in 1994 as Norman Foss. As a writer, his first work was on the "Letting Go" episode of Where the Heart Is.

Toby's major contribution to the horror genre was the British horror/drama Being Human, which involved a central cast consisting of a vampire, a ghost and a werewolf. The show premiered in 2008 and aired on BBC-3. Whithouse is credited as executive producer on the series as well as creative consultant and receives a "written and created by" credit on most episodes. He also served as an executive producer and format creator on the North American adaptation of the series, also called Being Human.
