"And Yet It Lives" is the title to the twelfth issue of the second Swamp Thing ongoing comic book series by DC Comics. It is the first of two stories presented in this issue. It was written by Martin Pasko with artwork by Tom Yeates. It was colored by Tatjana Wood and lettered by John Costanza. The second vignette is a six-page story featuring the Phantom Stranger titled "Ageless", and is written by Nicola Cuti with artwork by Fred Carrillo, colors by Anthony Tollin and lettering by John Costanza. Both stories were edited by Len Wein. This issue shipped with an April, 1983 cover date and carries a cover price of 60 cents per copy (US).
Synopsis[]
Swamp Thing battles with the Golem on the snowy cliffs of Mount Untersberg and manages to deactivate it by erasing one of the Hebrew letters inscribed on its forehead. Karen Clancy then telepathically sends Kripptman and his team a message challenging them to confront her at a Synagogue where Kripptman once worshipped. They then put Karen Clancy's locket on the Golem and re-activate it, so that it tracks her down.
Meanwhile in Munich, Walter "Grasp" Ellenbeck forces his way into the hotel room where Dennis Barclay and Liz Tremayne are staying and tries to get them to give up Harry Kay's whereabouts. Dennis and Liz find a perfect moment to attack Grasp and leave him unconscious in their room while they go to meet Kripptman. It turns out, however that this was Grasp's plan all along and he has a colleague waiting to watch where they go, ready to follow them.
Swamp Thing and the others reach the Synagogue and with the combined strength of the Golem and the psychics they kill Karen. Karl, Alan and Milton also perish in the battle. It turns out that Karen was merely the physical vessel for the evil entity that is the harbinger of the Great Beast and it leaves her body. After briefly possessing Liz, it attempts to take control of the Swamp Thing. Swamp Thing's tremendous willpower casts the entity out. While all this is happening Grasp is trying to shoot them from a distance with a sniper rifle.
In a moment of searing light, the evil entity transports Swamp Thing, Liz, Dennis, Kripptmann, Grasp and the Golem to a huge metal fortress where they will meet Satan himself.

"Ageless"[]
An 18-year-old with an accelerated aging disease feels and looks 70, but wishes to become an astronaut and romance young Kara, who has recently dumped her boyfriend. The Phantom Stranger leads him to a doctor who reverses his disease with an experimental drug so that he may achieve his heart's desires.
