Steve Miner is an American film director, producer, editor and occasionally an actor. He was born Stevan W. Miner in Westport, Connecticut on June 18th, 1951. Miner has been connected with several cottage industry franchises not the least of which include The Last House on the Left, Friday the 13th and Halloween film series. His first professional work in the horror genre was Wes Craven's disturbing 1972 psycho-thriller The Last House on the Left. In 2010, Miner began working as a producer on the ABC television series The Gates.

• Steve Miner directed the closing scene from Friday the 13th where Alice Hardy is in the hospital speaking to Sergeant Tierney. The scene was added during the post-production stage and Sean S. Cunningham as well as director of photography Barry Abrams were both unavailable to complete the scene.
