Speak No Evil is an American feature film of the psychological suspense thriller subgenre of horror. It is a remake of the 2022 Danish film of the same name. It was written and directed by James Watkins and produced by Blumhouse Productions and the Croatian Film Association. It was presented by and distributed through Universal Pictures. It premiered at Fantasy Filmfest in Germany on September 4th, 2024. It was released theatrically in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada on September 13th, 2024. The film stars Mackenzie Davis and Scoot McNairy as Louise & Ben Dalton - a London couple who, along with their daughter Agnes, played by Alix West Lefler, meet a free-spirited English family consisting of Paddy, wife Ciara and mute son Ant while vacationing in Italy. At the conclusion of their vacation, Paddy and Ciara invite the Daltons to come visit them at their country farmhouse. Tensions quickly develop as the Daltons come to learn that Paddy may be something other than the gregarious host that he portends to be.

  • Plot elements from this film are based on concepts developed by Christian and Mads Tafdrup. Christian Tafdrup served as an executive producer on this film. The original premise was inspired by a "What If?" scenario envisioned by Tafdrup after meeting a friendly couple in Tuscany while on vacation who had invited him to come stay with them.
  • There are a total of nine credited cast members in this film. This is equal to the number of producers on the movie.
  • The movie was filmed primarily in Gloucester, England with one week's worth of filming taking place in Gronznjan in Croatia. [1][2]
