Biography[]

Simon Stroud - Morbius

Tyrese Gibson as Simon Stroud in Morbius.

Simon Stroud hailed from New York City, New York. As an adult, he worked as a field agent for the Central Intelligence Agency. He left the C.I.A. to become a member of a special task force led by the 30th Precinct of the New York City Police Department. His first case with the NYPD involved investigating an alleged werewolf sighting. After studying the crime scenes, Stroud eventually drew a connection between this "Man-Wolf", and its connection to Daily Bugle managing editor J. Jonah Jameson. Simon Stroud tracked the Man-Wolf and cornered him at the top of the Statue of Liberty. The Man-Wolf lunged at Stroud, who evade the attack, and the creature fell down into the water below. Stroud assumed that the Man-Wolf died in the fall, but the creature resurfaced soon after. [1] Stroud continued to doggedly hunt down the Man-Wolf over the next several weeks, but was eventually called back to Washington.

Simon Stroud was re-assigned to the Boston, Massachusetts area to investigate another series of bizarre incidents relating to the supernatural. A series of murders had all of the earmarks of a vampire attack. Stroud didn't believe this was the case, but continued to investigate nonetheless. Stroud discovered the corpse of a vampire and arranged to disinter the victim's casket. Before the body could revive as a newborn vampire, Simon Stroud plunged a wooden stake into its heart. [2]

Simon Stroud continued to investigate vampire related murders that was occurring in the Boston area. After interviewing several witnesses, and chasing down some leads, Stroud encountered a "living" vampire named Doctor Michael Morbius. This would begin a career-spanning obsession, as Stroud committed himself to taking Morbius down at all costs.

Years later, Michael Morbius seemingly "died" as a result of lack of blood consumption. Simon Stroud was one of many who attended his memorial service. One of Morbius' colleagues, Jacob Weisenthal, informed Stroud that Morbius' body had disappeared. In truth, it had been stolen by the Dark Dwarf, who laid claim to Morbius for failure to honor a contractual bargain. [3]
