Sigourney Weaver is an American actress born in New York City, New York on October 8th, 1949. She is best known for playing the role of action heroine Ellen Ripley in the Aliens film franchise. She first played the role in the 1979 Ridley Scott film Alien and reprised the part for the next two sequels, Aliens and Alien³. Although the character of Ripley was killed off in the climax of Alien 3, franchise creators found a way to bring her back in 1997's Alien Resurrection. In this film, Weaver played a clone hybrid of Ellen Ripley and a Xenomorph Queen. Outside of the Aliens family of films, Weaver also played the role of Dana Barrett in the comedy films Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II. She also played Lady Claudia Hoffman in the 1997 fantasy-horror movie Snow White: A Tale of Terror.
