Scream is an American feature film of the slasher subgenre of horror. It is the fifth installment in the Scream film series and the first film in the series that is not directed by Wes Craven. It was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett with a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. It was produced by Paramount Pictures and released exclusively to theaters on January 14th, 2022. Scream sees the return of the franchise power-trio Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers-Riley, and David Arquette as Dewey Riley. We return to Woodsboro - where it all began - as murders begin happening again, and they seem to be mysteriously connected to the original 1996 Woodsboro Massacre.
