Saw V is an American horror film of the slasher subgenre. It is the fifth installment in the Saw film series and is directed by David Hackl. It was produced by Twisted Pictures and released theatrically in the United States on October 24th, 2008. In this film, Detective Mark Hoffman, former apprentice to Jigsaw, picks up where John Kramer left off. In the eyes of his peers however, he is considered a hero - the man who finally put an end to the Jigsaw Killer. Agent Strahm however, believes differently and investigates a new string of torturous murders while Hoffman tries to keep him off his path at all costs.
