Saw IV is an American horror film of the slasher subgenre. It is the fourth installment in the ongoing Saw franchise and was directed by Darren Lynn Bousman. It was produced by James Wan's company Twisted Pictures and released theatrically in the United States on October 26th, 2007. It is the first film in the series to spotlight on recurring villain John "Jigsaw" Kramer, even though the character was killed off at the end of Saw III.
