Biography[]
Sara Mason was a brunette college student in the mid 1980s who was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at an unidentified college in Los Angeles, California. She was friends and housemates with Beth Henkel, Tracy, Cindy, and Laura Dawn Grant. When Cindy left school to go to Palm Springs for Memorial Day weekend, Sara and the others amused themselves by rifling through Cindy's clothes and trying on various outfits. Sara got nervous when she accidentally spilled something onto one of Cindy's dresses.
In the early summer of 1986, a serial killer named Bobby Henkel broke out of the Peligro Valley State Mental Hospital and began stalking students at the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority house. At the time, Beth Henkel was unaware that the man stalking them was in fact her older brother.
After Bobby killed off Tracy and Beth's boyfriend John, the other girls retreated upstairs. Bobby Henkel followed them upstairs and encountered Sara. He stabbed her three times in the chest with a long knife, killing her.
Notes & Trivia[]
- The character of Sara Mason was created by director and screenwriter Carol Frank.
- Sara Mason was Bobby Henkel's 11th murder victim. She was the 6th victim of the 1986 murders. She was the 4th victim who was a college student and she was the fourth female murder victim in total, and the 2nd female victim of the campus massacre.
- Sara Mason suffered more injuries than Bobby Henkel's other victims. She was stabbed three times whereas his other victims were only stabbed either once or twice. This is likely done because Bobby was emulating the method he used to kill one of his younger siblings many years earlier.
