Sam Loomis is a fictional business owner featured in the Psycho film series. Played by actor John Gavin, he appeared in the 1960 thriller Psycho by director Alfred Hitchcock.

Sam Loomis was a divorced hardware store owner from Fairvale. His business was appropriately called, Sam Loomis Hardware.

Loomis was in love with Marion Crane and frequently visited her in Phoenix, Arizona. They had sexual encounters at hotels that billed by the hour. Loomis intended to wed Marion but not until he could afford to do so properly. He was paying alimony to his ex-wife and also paying off debts left by his father. [2][3]
