Robert Zemeckis is an American film and television producer, director and writer. He was born Robert Lee Zemeckis in Chicago, Illinois on May 14th, 1951. He is best known as one of the driving forces behind the HBO television series Tales from the Crypt along with Richard Donner and Joel Silver. His first work in a horror role was putting together the story used in the "Chopper" episode of Kolchak: The Night Stalker.
