Rob Zombie is an American musician, director, writer and horror movie fan. He is most widely known as being the front man for the heavy metal band, White Zombie, whose named was derived from the 1932 Bela Lugosi film of the same name. White Zombie's most famous song, "Thunder Kiss '65" from the 1992 album, La Sexorcisto: Devil Music, Vol. 1 has been featured in several soundtracks including 1998's, Bride of Chucky. In 1998, Zombie began working outside of the band on various solo projects. Songs from his first album Hellbilly Deluxe have been featured in many horror films. One of the tracks, "Living Dead Girl", featured audio clips from the 1932 Universal Pictures film, The Mummy.
In 2003, Zombie took his love for horror films to the next level when he had the opportunity to sit in the director's chair. He directed the film House of 1000 Corpses, which bred a 2005 sequel, The Devil's Rejects. In 2007, Zombie committed himself to remaking the 1978 John Carpenter classic, Halloween, as well as the 2009 sequel, Halloween II.
Rob Zombie also produced the animated feature The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, which was based on a comic book that Zombie created.
Zombie is known for re-using many of the same cast members from his movies, particularly his wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, who has appeared in all of Rob Zombie's films. Other recurring actors include Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, William Forsythe and Leslie Easterbrook.
Zombie also directed the false movie trailer, Werewolf Women of the SS (starring Sybil Danning) for the Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez double-feature Grindhouse.
