Richard Donner is an American film director, film producer, and comic book writer. The production company The Donners' Company is owned by Donner and his wife, producer Lauren Shuler Donner. Donner's first foray into the realm of horror was directing the 1972 episode of Circle of Fear titled "The Concrete Captain". His first major horror movie film work was directing The Omen in 1976. The film was a violent and popular supernatural thriller that starred Gregory Peck whose son turns out to be the Antichrist. Along with Joel Silver and Robert Zemeckis, Donner was also one of the executive producers on the Tales from the Crypt television series for HBO.
