Resurrection

Resurrection represents the ability of a deceased individual to return to life. This process may occur through either scientific means or through occult ritualism, but may also occur as a result of unexplained phenomena. In some cases, the individual is restored fully, in others, they are resurrected as some undead entity. This phenomena occurs mostly in media involving supernatural or paranormal forces. Zombie fiction is the most basic example of seeing the dead brought back to life.

In film[]

Crow, The: In The Crow film series, a crow uses its totemic power to resurrect Eric Draven from the dead so he can avenge himself against those who murdered he and his girlfriend, Shelly.
Freddy vs. Jason: Freddy Krueger uses his power to resurrect Jason Voorhees so that he can be his personal weapon against people in the real world.
Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives: Tommy Jarvis spears Jason's corpse with an iron fence post. Lightning strikes the pole, bringing Jason back to life.
Haunting of Molly Hartley, The
Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday: After a string of heart-eating adventures, Jason is reborn "through a Voorhees" and briefly assumes corporeal form before being dragged back down to Hell.

In television[]

Being Human (US): Josh Levinson and Nora Sargent employ the aid of a witch to resurrect the ghost of their friend Sally Malik. Through this process, they also resurrect Stevie Atkins and Nicholas Fenn.
The Crow: Stairway to Heaven

The Crow: The Soul Can't Rest: One year after his murder, musician Eric Draven is resurrected from the dead to avenge his own death as well as that of his girlfriend, Shelly Webster.

Preacher

"See": Cassidy kills vampire hunters Fiore and DeBlanc, but they appear again later on, seemingly no worse for wear.
"The Possibilities": Cassidy runs over Fiore and DeBlanc with a truck, but once again, they reconstitute themselves in new bodies.

In comics[]

Walking Dead, The: Whenever a person dies, regardless of the means by which they are killed, they will return to life as an undead flesh-eater, or "walker". The only exception to this is when someone dies as a result of extensive damage to the brain.
