Quatermass and the Pit is a British feature film of the science fiction and horror genres. It is the third film in the Quatermass film series. It was directed by Roy Ward Baker with a script written by Nigel Kneale based on an original story by Kneale. It was produced by Hammer Film Productions and the Toho Company (an odd pairing, to say the least), and premiered in the United Kingdom on November 9th, 1967. It was first released in the United States on February 16th, 1968 through 20th Century Fox.
