Plan 9 from Outer Space is an American independent feature film blending elements of the science fiction and horror genres. It was written and directed by Edward D. Wood, Jr.. It was produced by Reynolds Pictures and was first previewed at the Carlton Theatre in Los Angeles, California on March 15th, 1957. After failing to find a distributor, It finally opened theatrically in the United States on July 22nd, 1959.
