Patrick: Evil Awakens is an Australian feature film that blends elements of science fiction with psychological horror. It is a remake of the 1978 science fiction suspense thriller Patrick. It was directed by Mark Hartley with a script written by Justin King based on a screen story written by King, Hartley, Ray Boseley and Antony I. Ginnane. It premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival on July 27th, 2013. It had a limited theatrical release in Australia on March 14th, 2014. The film stars Jackson Gallagher as the titular Patrick - a comatose patient who possesses psychokinetic abilities and becomes obsessed with his new nurse, Kathy Jacquard, played by Sharni Vinson. Playing the role of "mad scientist" Doctor Roget is Alien³ actor Charles Dance.
