Orphan: First Kill is an American independent feature film of the psychological thriller subgenre of horror. It serves as a prequel to the 2009 film Orphan. It was directed by William Brent Bell with a screenplay by David Coggeshall based on a story treatment by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Alex Mace. It was produced by Dark Castle Entertainment, Eagle Vision, and Entertainment One. It was released simultaneously in theaters as well as video-on-demand and on the Paramount+ streaming service on August 19th, 2022. Actress Isabelle Fuhrman reprises the role of Esther - the creepy, murderous not-a-girl from the first film. Co-starring in Orphan: First Kill is Julia Stiles as Tricia Albright, Rossif Sutherland as Allen Albright, Matthew Finlan as Gunnar Albright, and Hiro Kanagawa as Detective Donnan.
