- Is a remake of the original The Old Dark House directed by James Whale in 1932.
- Production on The Old Dark House began on May 4th, 1962. Principal photography concluded on June 22nd, 1962.
- Though co-produced by both American and UK productions companies, The Old Dark House premiered in the United States nearly three years prior to its first screening in the UK.
- Anthony Hinds is uncredited for his contributions to this film. Hinds has co-produced many of the classic "Hammer Horror" films of the 1950s-70s.
