The New York Ripper is an Italian giallo film of the slasher subgenre of horror. It was directed by Lucio Fulci with a screenplay by Fulci, Dardano Sacchetti, Gianfranco Clerici, and Vincenzo Mannino based on a story concept by Fulci, Clerici, and Mannino. It was produced by Fulvia Film and Silent Warrior Productions and first premiered in Italy on March 4th, 1982. It opened to limited theatrical release in the United States on October 5th, 1984.
