Nate Keller is a fictional loan shark and a supporting character in the 30 Days of Night multimedia franchise. Played by actor Ken Foree, he appeared in the second chapter from the 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust shorts series on FEARnet.
Biography[]
Nate Keller was a loan shark that lived out of a recreational vehicle on the outskirts of New Orleans, Louisiana. In January, 2008, a retired police detective named Nick Maguire came to Keller's RV searching for one of his contacts - a man named George Fowler, who had only recently escaped from prison. Keller knew nothing about it, but Nick elected to stay behind, suspecting that Fowler might come to Keller's camper seeking aid.
Nick's prediction proved accurate as George arrived at Nate's home hoping to get some money from him. Nate scoffed, citing that George stilled owed him five-hundred dollars. At that point, Nick emerged from the back and leveled his revolver at George's head.
Moments later, a vampire named Jacob attacked the RV. Nate went outside to investigate the clamor, and Jacob tore his arm off. He retreated back inside, but it was too late. Jacob entered the RV and finished him off.
Notes & Trivia[]
- The character of Nate Keller was created by director Ben Ketai and writer Ed Fowler.
- In the 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust end-credit sequence, the character is identified only as Keller. His first name is spoken by Nick Maguire in the segment.
- Apparently the vampire tradition of requiring an invitation before entering one's home does not apply to 30 Days of Night vampires. Either that, or there is a loophole somewhere in the rules that excludes recreational vehicles, even if they are one's primary residence.
