Biography[]
Naomi Collins, maiden name unknown, was an English woman who lived in Liverpool, England in the mid 18th century. She was an attractive slender woman with dark hair. She was the wealthy socialite wife of Joshua Collins and had a son named Barnabas Collins.
In 1760, the Collins family and their staff moved from Liverpool to to the New World where they established a fishing fleet in the territory of Maine. The following year, Joshua erected the family manor, known as Collinwood.
When Barnabas was a young man, he was in love with a woman named Josette du Près. Barnabas' former mistress, Angelique, who was a maid for the Collins family, was insanely jealous of being spurned by Barnabas and used all of her resources to cause him untold misery. Whether Naomi was aware of her son's relationships is unknown, but it is very likely that she was unaware that Angelique was also a witch.
One evening, Naomi, Joshua and the family dog were enjoying a stroll around the estate grounds. Angelique used her powers to cause a cornice piece of the great house, which was carved in the likeness of a seahorse, to crack apart and fall. The huge piece of concrete came down, crushing them both to death.
