The Naked Monster is an American independent feature film of the science fiction and horror genre with an emphasis on the "giant monster" subgenre. It is a send-up to similarily themed classic schlock films of the 1950s. The movie was directed by Wayne Berwick and Ted Newsom with a screenplay written by Newsom. It was produced by Heidelberg Films and released through Anthem Pictures. It premiered at the Winston-Salem RiverRun International Film Festival on April 22nd ,2005.
Pre-production for this film began as earely as 1984, but did not truly get moving until 1988. After an extended hiatus, principal filming began on December 10th, 2004, and concluded on December 31st, 2004.
