Mose is a fictional alcoholic & one-time deputy and a supporting character featured in the Wrong Turn film series. Played by actor Duncan Wisbey, he appeared in the 2012 sequel film Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines.
Biography[]
Mose was a middle-aged Caucasian man who lived in the town of Fairlake, West Virginia in the early 2000s. He was something of a town drunk who often found himself spending a night in jail for drunken disorderly conduct. Sheriff Angela Carter had arrested Mose and threw him in the drunk tank during the Mountain Man Festival. Sheriff Carter also arrested a man named Maynard Odets for assaulting a group of youths and threw him in the same cell as Mose. As Maynard began issuing threats and taunts at Sheriff Carter's direction, Mose grew uncomfortable and asked to be placed into a different cell.
Maynard Odets was the father of three inbred cannibalistic psychopaths colloquially known as Three Finger, One Eye and Saw Tooth. He warned Sheriff Carter that his "boys" were coming to get him and that they would murder anyone who got in their way. As more locals began disappearing, the station suffered a power outage. Angela Carter decided to let Mose out and enlisted his aid in trying to find some of the missing people. She temporarily deputized him and gave him a shotgun.
The youths known as Billy and Julian failed to return to the station after going off to look for Billy's girlfriend, Cruz. Carter had Mose go out in search of them. Mose nearly shot another young woman, Lita, who had come upon the police station.
Using Sheriff Carter's police cruiser, Moses went out on the road in search of the missing people. His vehicle ran across some pre-placed barb wire, which forced it off the road. Mose survived the crash, but was captured by Three Finger, One Eye and Saw Tooth. They sealed Mose inside of a large metal drum then set it on fire, which slowly roasted him. The canister exploded, destroying Mose's remains. [2][3]

- The character of Mose was created by writer and director Declan O'Brien based on concepts originally developed by Alan McElroy.
- Mose is the eighth character killed in Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines out of a total of ten confirmed kills. He is the seventh male character killed in the film. He was killed after Julian, but before Jason.
