  • Misery was adapted into a Broadway theatrical production in 2015. It was directed by Will Fears and written by William Goldman, who wrote the screenplay for the film. It starred Laurie Metcalf as Annie Wilkes with Bruce Willis as Paul Sheldon.
  • Misery won the Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel in 1987. It is the first book to receive this award by the Horror Writers Association (HWA).
  • Misery was nominated for the category of Best Novel at the World Fantasy Awards in 1988.
