The Meg is an American feature film of the action & thriller franchises with an emphasis on the predatory animal subgenre of films and explores themes of Man vs. Nature. In short, a bunch'a people have to fight a giant prehistoric shark. It was directed by Jon Turtletaub with a screenplay written by Dean Georgaris, Jon Hoeber, and Erich Hoeber, based on a novel written by Steve Alten. It was produced by Di Bonaventura Pictures, Apelles Entertainment, Maeday Productions, and the Flagship Entertainment Group, and premiered internationally on August 9th, 2018. The film stars Jason Statham as Jonas Taylor with Li Bingbing as Suyin, Rainn Wilson as Morris, Cliff Curtis as mac, Winston Chao as Zhang, Sophia Cai as Meiying, Ruby Rose as Jaxx, and Masi Oka as Toshi.
