Margot Kidder was a Canadian actress born in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada on October 17th, 1948. Although she is best known for playing the role of Lois Lane in the Superman film franchise, Kidder has also distinguished herself in several horror-related venues. Her first major genre role was in the 1973 Brian De Palma psycho-thriller Sisters where she played the twin roles of Danielle Breton and Dominique Blanchion. In 1974, she played the part of Barbara Coard, one of several victims of "Billy" in Bob Clark's holiday slasher Black Christmas. Following the first Superman, Kidder played the part of Kathy Lutz, housewife and ill-fated home owner of a haunted house in The Amityville Horror. Although several of Margot's films had since been re-imagined by other directors, it wasn't until 2009 that she appeared in a remake herself. Kidder played psychiatrist Barbara Collier in Rob Zombie's Halloween II. Margot Kidder passed away in Montana on May 13th, 2018 at the age of sixty-nine.

- Margot Kidder and Sisters co-star Jennifer Salt were roommates in Southern California in the early 1970s while they were struggling performers.
- Was surprised to learn that Black Christmas had become a cult favorite.
- While shooting a scene in The Amityville Horror where Kathy Lutz is startled by the red eyes in the window, director Stuart Rosenberg wasn't impressed by Margot Kidder's reaction. According to Kidder, Rosenberg then tried to hold up a "a day-glo orange stuffed velour pig with glass eyes" in an attempt to startle Kidder. She said the result was only hysterical laughter, not fear.
- Margot Kidder is the aunt of Janet Kidder who has appeared in Bride of Chucky and Ginger Snaps: Unleashed.
