The Mangler is a joint American, Australian and South African horror film. It is an adaptation of the short story, "The Mangler", by author Stephen King, which first appeared in the anthology novel Night Shift, first published by Doubleday in February, 1978. The film was written and directed by Tobe Hooper and co-written by Stephen Brooks and Peter Welbeck. It was produced by Allied Film Production, Distant Horizons and New Line Cinema and released theatrically in the United States on March 3rd, 1995. The film stars Robert Englund as Bill Gartley and involves a laundry folding machine that is possessed by a demon and eats people. Yes, you read that correctly - a laundry folding machine. This plot is just a Family Guy sketch waiting to happen.
