Manchester is a city and metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester, England. It was one of the provincial settings in the 2002 film 28 Days Later. In the film, infection survivors Jim, Selena, Hannah and her father Frank evacuate the plague-ridden streets of London in the hopes of finding a military command center in Manchester. Frank becomes infected and dies just before reaching the base. When they arrive, they find not a brigade, but a contingent of ten soldiers led by a man named Major Henry West.
