MaXXXine is an American feature film of the psychological thriller genre. It is the third installment in the X trilogy, which began with X in 2022 and then the sequel film Pearl, also in 2022. It was written and directed by Ti West and was produced by A24 and Motel Mojave in association with Access Entertainment. The movie premiered at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, California on June 24th, 2024. It was then release in Brazil, Germany, and Mexico on July 4th, 2024. It began screening nationwide in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom on July 5th.

Actress Mia Goth reprises her role from X as Maxine Minx. Other cast members of note include Simon Prast as Maxine's father, Ernest Miller, Elizabeth Debicki as film director Elizabeth Bender, Giancarlo Esposito as Maxine's agent Teddy Night, American pop star Halsey as prostitute Tabby Martin, and Kevin Bacon as private investigator John Labat.

Plot[]

It has been six years since former adult film star Maxine Minx emerged as the sole survivor of a mad couple's killing spree at a Texas farmhouse. Now, her dreams of becoming a true Hollywood starlet are on the verge of coming true, as Maxine continues to intone her own personal mantra, "I will not accept a life I do not deserve". Her big break comes as she auditions for a horror film sequel called The Puritan II, but the backdrop of 1980s Hollywood presents new challenges. "Satanic Panic" has gripped the nation, targeting purveyors of horror films and heavy metal music; all of which are accented by a series of brutal killings committed by an unknown assailant that the media has dubbed the Night Stalker. The murders are striking a little close to home for Maxine though as friends and colleagues begin turning up as corpses. Shades of her former life begin rearing its ugly head as well as a private investigator threatens to dredge up her involvement in the 1979 Texas killings. But Maxine is undeterred as she ball-stomps her way into becoming what she has always wanted to be - a goddamn movie star.
