The Lords of Salem is an American independent feature film of the horror genre, which focuses on themes of witchcraft and the supernatural thriller genre. It was written and directed by Rob Zombie and produced by Automatik Entertainment, Blumhouse Productions, Haunted Movies, and IM Global. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10th, 2012. It was first screened in the United States at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas on March 11th, 2013. The movie stars Sheri Moon Zombie as Heidi Hawthorne with Bruce Davison as Francis Matthias, Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman "Whitey" Salvador, Meg Foster as Margaret Morgan, Patricia Quinn as Megan, and Ken Foree as Herman Jackson.

Heidi Hawthorne is a radio DJ from Salem, Massachusetts who comes into possession of a strange vinyl that plays hypnotic musical chords. After playing it over the radio, she unwittingly invites the spirits of a 17th century witches' coven into her life.

  • At its widest release, The Lords of Salem was in limited theatrical release in 354 theaters.
  • The Lords of Salem closed out of theaters on May 26th, 2013. It had been in release for a total of four weeks (28 days), not counting film festival screenings.
  • A novelization of the film was published by Grand Central Publishing and released in paperback format on October 8th, 2013. The book was written by Rob Zombie and B.K. Evenson.
