Linda Blair is an American actress born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 22nd, 1959. She is best known for playing the part of eleven-year-old Regan MacNeil in William Friedkin's 1973 film The Exorcist. Blair reprised the role of Regan in the critically-reviled 1977 sequel, Exorcist II: The Heretic. The following year, Blair turned away from demons and entered the world of witchcraft in Wes Craven's 1978 film Stranger in Our House playing the role of Rachel Bryant. In 1981, she played Marti Gaines in Hell Night. This was followed up by more low-budget fare such as 1988's Witchcraft and the obscure 1989 film The Chilling. Blair paid homage to her Exorcist roots in the schlocky 1990 comedy Repossessed where she played Nancy Aglet, a girl suffering from demonic possession. Blair made more guest appearances in satirical horror such as her cameo apperance as an obxnosious news reporter at the end of Wes Craven's Scream. In 1999, Linda Blair starred as Heather in the mockumentary The Blair Bitch Project, itself a spoof of The Blair Witch Project, released that same year. Blair also played the role of Detective Diana Ballard in an episode of Supernatural entitled "The Usual Suspects".
The Marvel Comics character Frank Drake created a weapon that fired Hellfire which he named the Exorcist gun. He also gave it the affectionate nickname "Linda" after Linda Blair.
