Alexia "Lexi" Branson is a fictional vampire and a minor character featured on the CW Network television series The Vampire Diaries. Played by actress Arielle Kebbel, she appeared in the eighth episode of season one, "162 Candles".
Overview[edit | edit source]
Lexi Branson was a vampire who was born at some point during the latter half of the 17th century. She was made vampire in the year 1681. During her life, Lexi befriended the Salvatore brothers, Damon and Stefan - both of whom were vampires as well. She grew really close with Stefan and even adopted his habit of blood donor restriction, choosing to feed off animals or from bags of plasma rather than live humans. Lexi reconnected with Stefan in the modern era when she came to Mystic Falls to celebrate his birthday. She met Elena Gilbert and quickly realized that Stefan was in love with her. Unfortunately for Lexi, Damon Salvatore had been responsible for several murders in the Mystic Falls area and a group of hunters were gunning for him. Seeking to keep them off his trail, he steered them in Lexi's direction, then sprang into action, staking her through the heart so as to make it appear as if he were a fellow vampire hunter. As Lexi died, the confused vampire asked Damon, "Why?", to which he responded, "It was part of the plan".
