Leeches are black, slimy little slug things that suck the blood out of living animals. They really are quite disgusting. They tend to live in swampy waters and can attach themselves to the skin by way of miniature pincers. They're a real pain in the ass to get off of you.

Back in the late 1950s, a pair of giant, mutated sentient leeches were living inside of an underwater cave in the Florida Everglades. As leeches are known to be dicks, these two wonderful bastions of society began taking human captives, dragging them down into the swamps where they would slowly suckle at them for their precious bodily fluids. [1]
A few decades later, a horde of space leeches came to Earth and began wreaking havoc in a small middle-America town, taking control of citizens via mind control. [2]
French craftsman Andre Toulon put the soul of his own wife into the body of a female doll, which he named Miss Leech. The strange little raven-haired puppet earned her name from her ability to produce small, black leeches from her mouth. Where these leeches originated and how they ended ups inside of a puppet is anyone's guess. [3][4]
The Upir known as Roman Godfrey, in order to satiate his vampiric bloodlust, would pay an old man a handsome sum of money to stick leeches all over his body until they have had their fill of blood and then eat the leeches off the old man. Needless to say, Roman has some severe psychological issues. [5]
