- The title of this episode is taken from the song "Long, Long Time" by artist Linda Ronstadt, which was written by Gary White and recorded in 1970. It was released as a single and also appeared on the album Silk Purse. The song is played twice in this episode, including the closing scene.
- This episode includes brief flashbacks to Outbreak Day on September 26th, 2003, and its immediate follow-up on September 30th.
