- Penny Dreadful: Victor Frankenstein maintained a private laboratory in London, England. It was here that he conducted his experiments on cellular reanimation resulting in the creation of beings like John Clare, Mister Proteus, and Lily.
- Resident Evil: The Umrella Corporation maintained a scientific research laboratory that they called the Hive. The Hive was located below ground several miles outside of Raccoon City and was the staging ground for the T-Virus, which had been released into the facility, turning all of the staff members into zombies.
- Werewolf of London: Doctor Wilfred Glendon maintained a private botanical laboratory inside of his London estate. It was here that he studied the effects of the rare plant mariphasa lupine lumina when exposed to artificial light.
